The book is the compilation of the transcriptions of Dr. Kent’s lectures at the Post Graduate School of Homeopaths in Philadelphia. Dr. Kent believed in Dr. Hahnemnn’s view of the patient’s own language being the best expression of his disease. Therefore he held that Homeopathic materia medica must be reduced from technicalities to simple speech of the patient. It must be understood by the reader that this not a primary materia medica and therefore not all remedies have found place in it.
